Position Summary
This is a hands-on, part-time with the possibility of turning into a full-time position with day-to-day duties in the office (not remote) that may include payroll, maintaining accurate records of both collections and receivables and ensuring that invoices are paid promptly and that clients pay by their payment terms. The ideal candidate is passionate about accounting, and a self-starter with a high attention to detail. Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and process invoices along with supporting documents, verify the accuracy of billing data, and ensure correct billing requirements are met
- Prepare journal entries
- Assist with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
- Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts
- Researching and correcting account discrepancies
- Assist with invoicing, collection, and reporting
- Assist with payroll via ADP Workforce Now
- Post payments and Identify discrepancies in payments received, resolve issues, and communicate when collection efforts are unsuccessful
- Process and compare invoices to purchase orders to determine the amount owed
- Assist with monthly reconciliations
- Assist in compiling monthly reports for Program managers and senior accountant
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting process
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting is required
- 1 or more years of experience with payroll, high volume invoicing, expense processing, and accounts payable with advanced monthly reconciliation is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Proficient in Sage Intact, QuickBooks, ADP Workforce Now, and Excel
- Ability to solve problems using research and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, strong math skills, General Accounting Principles (GAP), and 10-key skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong time management, analytics, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred
- ADP Workforce Now experience is highly preferred
Wage: $25.38 to $30.00 per hour
