Accountant - Murray Resources

A stable, well-established engineering consulting firm in Humble is seeking an Accountant to join their team! The accountant will prepare and maintain financial records. The ideal candidate will have advanced MS Excel skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Salary: $55,000 - $60,000
Location: Humble, TX – On-Site

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Process accounts payable invoices, issue payments, and reconcile vendor statements.
• Generate and send customer invoices and follow up on overdue accounts receivable.
• Assist in the preparation of monthlyfinancial statements, including balance sheets income statements
• Monitor and analyze expenses, identify variances, and recommend cost-saving measures where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up to date on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting department.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 2-3 years of experience in a full cycle accounting role
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is a must; Ajera preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
