Position Summary
As Accountant, you will partner with the local President and sales team to profitably grow the business. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, possess excellent analytical skills, and demonstrate high ethical standards. You will partner with Group Accounting, Finance, HR, IT and ERP teams to implement and upgrade systems and reporting.
Key Duties and Essential Functions:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Monitor financial activities and details, including cash flow.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including preparing, verifying, and posting invoices.
- Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial statements. Calculate and reconcile commission payments with OEM sales orders.
- Accurate and timely processing of AP invoices, including the payment of invoices to vendors, monitor bank activity for ACH/check approvals, and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide variance analyses as needed.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely information and documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial performance against budget.
- Assist with tax filings, including gathering necessary documents and working with external tax consultants.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in accounting operations.
- Manage collection of past due receivables.
- Manage payroll preparation, timecard approvals and GL entries related to payroll.
- Conduct credit checks for new/prospective customers and handle customer inquiries related to credit and insurance.
- Oversee office supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related experience in progressive accounting roles
- CPA or CMA certification (or progress toward) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Natural curiosity to follow the data to the correct answer.
- Ability to gain “buy-in” and challenge the status quo in a collaborative manner.

- Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
- Must enter orders (sales order and commission orders) when needed to help with sales staff.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to observe details at close range.
Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annually, dependent on qualifications
