Our Finance department is looking for an experienced Accountant I to join the team. This on-site, hourly role will be responsible for:
General Accounts Receivable Functions
- Daily cash receipt application in accounting system and reconciliation with daily bank reports
- Working with the credit team to make AR collection calls to customers.
- Accept customer credit card payments over the phone and answer customer questions as needed or route calls to appropriate credit personnel
- Enter detailed notes in computer system to document all customer correspondence
- Assist AR & Credit personnel with filing to keep filing system current
General Accounts Payable Functions
- Working with AP team to review and manage AP email inbox, including saving all incoming AP invoices to the appropriate vendor and invoice files as well as sending approval requests for miscellaneous payable invoices to appropriate personnel
- Coding and entry of miscellaneous payable invoices in accounting system
- Ensure proper approval levels or seek needed approval before approving invoices for payment in accounting system
- Reconciliation of vendor statements with accounting system when received.
- AP vendor correspondence including, but not limited to, contacting vendors to request updated contact info and payment information, responding to payment status requests, and requesting invoice copies as needed
- Keep AP filing system current and well defined for incoming items as well as paid items
Perform Month-End Close & Reporting:
- Preparation and entry of monthly journal entries.
- Assist with closing month-end books for preparation of financial statements.
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Generate month-end reports.
- Assist in providing requested information to external auditors.
Assist in Overseeing Companywide Budget:
- Assist with annual budgeting process
- Provide historical data with analysis of actual-to-budget performance to department managers.
Analyze Capital Investment:
- Monitor and track investments in fixed assets and analyze paybacks compared to expected paybacks.
- Provide management with needed information.
- Calculate and track depreciation and amortization.
- Conduct monthly reviews of fixed assets for disposals and impairments.
Meet Federal and State Tax Reporting Requirements:
- Assist with preparation of payroll tax, sales tax, property tax, excise tax, and any other filing/reporting requirements.
- Assist in providing information for the preparation of Income Tax return.
