The Accountant’s work focuses on a wide variety of accounting-related tasks within the Accounting team. Reviewing, processing and reconciling supplier invoices, GR/IR, general ledger activity, intercompany balances, and system generated transactions. Ensure accurate and timely payment of amounts due. Process accruals to ensure activity is reported in the correct period. Reconcile balance sheets and identify risks. Provide analysis and reporting of accounting data. Administering, designing, and ensuring compliance with accounting processes. Additionally, the Accountant ensures all financial postings are in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Essential Duties:
- Prepare accounting journal entries as assigned for month-end close
- Reconciles and manages balance sheet accounts as assigned
- Create Reporting and answer queries from Business partners
- Create Standards of Work and Procedure Documentation for Finance department
- Helps to review and test internal controls across business functions
- Complete assigned tasks within deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ensure expenses are charged to the proper department and make any necessary reclassification journal entries
- Ensure SAP ERP data integrity and proper systematic documentation
- Work with systems integrated to and separate from SAP ERP
- Performs function of receiving, reviewing, processing and reconciling supplier invoices
- Troubleshoot and resolve invoice discrepancies by working with Indirect Procurement, Receiving, Corporate AP and vendors
- Cross-train as back up support for finance team members
- Critically reviews processes for efficiency and makes recommendations to the business for improvement
- Assist with preparation of audit schedules with proper documentation
- Assist auditors with any inquiries

Qualifications:Education:
- Basic/Required: Accounting/Finance Degree
Essential Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Advanced Literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to use reasoning to solve problems that may arise
- Ability to work Independently
- Communicate effectively with fellow team members and members of other departments
- Utilize established resources to complete work efficiently and effectively
- Strong customer service skills including excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Responds to inquiries from other departments in a timely manner
- Capable of handling confidential information in a responsible manner
- Flexibility and multi-tasking capabilities
- Detail oriented
- Highly organized and able to follow a systematic method of performing a task
- Strong data entry skills
- Ability to collaborate with teams
- Ability to work with domestic and international teams
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or another fully integrated ERP system preferred but not required
- Build strong relationships and collaborate well at all levels
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines
- Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure
