The Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill an Accountant position, grade G24 within the Accounting, Budget & Administration, and Loan Servicing Unit.

This position is INTERNAL ONLY for current Prince George's County Government merit employees. Any applications received that are not from current Prince George's County Government merit employees will not be accepted or reviewed.

About the Position: 
This position is a senior level professional and administrative accounting work. The incumbent performs complex accounting operations for the Federal Entitlement Programs, including but not limited to the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), and HOME Investment Partnerships Program, in addition to accounting services required for state and local funded programs and activities. The position also implements the disbursement of policies and procedures related to selected programs and activities while making independent decisions which have a high degree of financial and/or programmatic consequence. Incumbents prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards, and proper account classifications. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level accountant, or other designated officials in accordance with departmental policies, rules, and regulations. Work is evaluated in terms of quantity and quality of work produced.

DHCD does not lease, own, or sell affordable housing. We provide financing for new construction and the preservation of affordable housing.
