Accountant from Vanguard Temporaries, Inc.

Accountant needed for large healthcare union in Midtown Manhattan! This is a potential temp-to-direct hire opportunity, working for one of the largest unions in the United States. The position will be fully onsite, Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• General ledgers of assigned funds, preparing journal entries, recording and adjusting entries from the annual audit
• Perform monthly closings and allocation of expenses
• Prepare bank reconciliations and record bank account activities
• Prepare and update audit schedules monthly, year-to-date and annually
• Assist in preparation of annual form 5500 and 990, as well as monthly/annual financial statements and supplemental schedules, quarterly trustee reports, and monthly cash flow
• Prepare and upload wire transfers and commingled check requests

REQUIREMENTS:

• MUST HAVE strong journal entry and general ledger experience (grants experience would be a plus as well)
• BACHELOR's DEGREE in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in accounting with strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proven longevity in prior work experience is a must as well
