Position: Accountant
Job Status: Full Time; Monday - Friday
Salary: Hourly Dependent on Experience
Duties:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and ensure completeness of accounting data.
- Prepare period-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Participate in providing internal controls and/or oversight of financial operations including accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable, cash functions, payroll, and other related activities.
- Remain cross-trained to serve as backup to other departmental functions as needed.
- Collaborate with departmental and executive leaders towards the preparation and analysis of the annual budgets.
- Dive into data and correct inconsistencies, find and understand root causes and drivers.
- Communicate with other departments on outstanding accounting issues, problems, or concerns.
- Assist in developing, testing, and documenting new accounting systems and procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, survey completion, financial analysis, and other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA, currently pursuing a CPA, or public accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency in excel
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills a must
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal to no supervision
- Working knowledge of computer applications and basic office equipment
- Position level will vary from Accountant I to Accountant III depending on relevant experience
