NeoGenomics is looking for a Per Diem Accountant who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is a hyrbid position to work out of our Carlsbad, CA site.

Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team and plays an integral role in the company by ensuring accurate accounting and analysis of certain accrual, fixed assets, and prepaid accounts. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of accrual/asset related journal entries and assists with various aspects of the Company’s month-end close. Additionally, the Senior Accountant performs monthly reconciliation and account fluctuation analysis. This Senior Accountant will be asked to perform support for ad hoc projects for the accounting team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, analyze transactions and prepare reconciliations for moderately complex accounts, with focus on accruals, and asset accounts.
- Prepare commentary for account fluctuations or review of fluctuations.
- Foster working relationships cross-functionally.
- Identify areas of efficiencies to improve current process and procedures and determine scalable solutions.
- Assist in the submission of the Audit requirements from Internal and External auditors.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc requests as requested by Management.
- Stay current with knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ensure all tasks are completed on time, and the close is accurate and efficient from start to finish. Find efficiencies within the close process to decrease the time it takes to close.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with the systems team.
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Required
- 2 years of public accounting experience OR 5 years of relevant experience required
- Pursuing CPA is a plus
- Oracle ERP system experience preferred
- Blackline Software experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance
- Expertise in Oracle Patch Validation, system upgrades, and GL support
- Proven oral, written, and presentation skills
