Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for general accounting functions, such as month end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and various types of financial analysis.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain multiple general ledgers
• Prepare monthly journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period
• Prepare detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports to support management in the review of monthly operating performance
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and making correcting entries
• Prepare and post key indicators and statistics
• Assist practice management as need with financial information requests and questions
• Prepare entries and reconcile Property Management Accounts Receivable accounts
• Manage lease payments, including preparing check requests, reconciling lease amounts, and communicating with landlords
• Prepare and submit Sales & Use tax returns, as required
• Audit cafeteria receipts
• Assist in quarterly petty cash fund audits
• Assist in annual budget process, cost report, and year-end tax workpapers
• Assist with Abandoned Property reports
• Perform final review of Accounts Payable invoices prior to posting to general ledger
• Participate in the year-end inventory count for the hospital and related entities
• Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
• Respond timely to requests for information from Facility Management, Corporate, Internal Audit, and other internal and external management
• Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or propriertary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure
• Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
• Works as scheduled, including one weekend per month
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree
• 1-3 Experience Preferred
