Responsibilities of the Accountant:
- Utilize QuickBooks to maintain records according to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Review all vendor and independent contractor invoices for proper documentation, coding, and approvals.
- Record of all vendor invoices and all cash receipts into the accounting system, and file copies of cash receipts.
- Maintain W-9 documentation for all vendors.
- Prepare 1099 forms at year-end.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable monthly.
- Process and reconcile bi-weekly payroll.
- Assist Controller with basic reconciliations.
- Assist with grant tracking.
- Assist with gathering information and supporting documentation requested during annual financial statement audits
- Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
- Additional ad hoc projects
Background expected of the Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent
- Prior experience withing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll preferred
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks
