We are seeking a highly energetic and motivated professional with a financial background to support and work closely with the principal officers of the company assisting with the accounting functions and general office administration duties in Blue Island IL. This role will be involved in the day to day administrative and accounting functions of our company, specifically associated to the activities related to bookkeeping, billing, payroll, and accounts receivable functions, as well as some client interactions. The best candidate will have an excellent customer service driven mentality with the ability to communicate effectively over all areas of the company and with our clients. Pay will be commensurate with experience. This position requires high levels of confidentiality, discretion, and mature judgement to be successful. Further, accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills must be natural talents. Your Responsibilities:
- Strategic thinker with hands-on style to deliver practical and effective solutions that has an energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive presence.

- Business Insurance knowledge covering General Liability, Workman’s Compensation, Umbrella, Automobile, and associated Audits a plus.
- Assists with “Hourly” payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner, and submit payroll taxes.
- Administer Large “Hourly” Payroll entries on a bi-weekly basis.
- Has experience with Pay, Filing Weekly and Quarterly payroll taxes on a timely basis.
- Will be responsible for, and must have experience filing W2’s, 1095’s, 941 reporting, 940 reporting, and 1099’s and Year End closing.
- Ability to complete, on a bi-weekly basis, the function of accounts payables, to include; reviewing, coding and processing payments.
- Perform Accounts receivable functions, including; invoicing, deposits and collections.
- Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete and up-to-date manner.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis.
- Administer data entry functionality concerning wage rates and bill rates.
- Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis and summarization of data.
- Experience with wage garnishments and deductions processes.
- Review and recommend applicable accounting policies, goals, objectives, and procedures while conferring with management and employees as necessary.
- Willingness to learn variety of software systems in the day to day responsibilities.
- Works well with little supervision, after training is complete.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a Team.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products.
Requirements:
- Experience and success in general office administrative functions including Client correspondence, creating proposals, and budgets..
- Experience with Accounts receivables, Account payables, Payroll and General ledgers.
- BA in Business / Accounting / Finance or related area preferred but not required.
- Must have Four (4) years experience in Bookkeeping and Billing / Payroll responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, strong MS Excel skills, and ability to learn company programs.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
