We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join a leading construction company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process and handling payroll functions using Harpers Payroll and Sage Accounting software. This role is critical to ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

This is a unique opportunity to be trained by the current Accounts Payable Specialist, who will be retiring, and to work directly with the Controller. Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all AP transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.
- Payroll:
- Process payroll for all employees using Harpers Payroll software.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including wage calculations, deductions, and benefits.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare and submit payroll taxes and other related reports.
- General Accounting:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable and payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Harpers Payroll and Sage Accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
