Accounting Assistant - Savvee Consulting Inc

Savvee Consulting is seeking to hire an Accounting Assistant to support our corporate team and help grow our organization. Candidates will be required to work onsite at our headquarters location in Chantilly, VA in a hybrid onsite/telework schedule. We are seeking an individual that is a self-starter and passionate about the accounting field. This role requires candidates to have a strong desire to grow in the federal contracting field as it pertains to accounting.

Essential Functions

• Assisting the finance department to include the following, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing collections, cash receipts, and revenue recognition
• Following established procedures to prepare customer invoices
• Assisting the finance department in collecting customer payments in a timely manner
• Calculating, recording, and processing financial data by maintaining ledgers
• Utilizing the Deltek system for accounting and timekeeping
• Exercise knowledge of the fundamentals for federal government contracting and general accounting principles
• Demonstrating a commitment to quality and the growth of Savvee Consulting

Minimum Experience & Skills

• One or more years of experience in an accounting field completing the following functions; accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing collections, cash receipts, and revenue recognition
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Education/Certifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree (in accounting field desired)
• Experience with federal contracting
• Previous experience utilizing Deltek
• Previous accounting experience
