Accounting Assistant - Inland Family of Companies

About the Job
As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the accounting team in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting for our real estate clients. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of information and will provide you with opportunities to develop your skills and grow within the accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Support: Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payments and receipts.
- Data Entry: Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system.
- Reporting Assistance: Help prepare monthly financial statements and reports, including income statements and balance sheets, for management review.
- Reconciliations: Conduct bank reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies in financial records.
- Collaboration: Work closely with property management teams to support accurate reporting and provide necessary financial information.
- Documentation: Maintain organized files for financial transactions and correspondence, ensuring easy access and compliance.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with documentation and preparation for annual audits and tax filings, collaborating with external auditors as needed.
- Mentorship Support: Collaborate with junior team members, fostering a supportive team environment and sharing knowledge where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with property accounting systems (e.g., ResMan) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
