Client Overview:
Our client is the leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services. They are rapidly growing in the Orlando market, and have over 300 offices around the world. They are seeking a Accounting Assistant to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$18 – $25/hr
Position Overview:
The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records related to subcontractors. This Accounting Assistant position involves reviewing contracts, verifying time sheets, and assisting with general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant:
- Examine subcontractor contracts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
- Ensure that all contract terms are properly documented and understood
- Collect, review, and verify weekly time sheets submitted by subcontractors
- Cross-check time sheets against contracts to ensure hours worked align with agreed terms
- Address any discrepancies or issues with subcontractors promptly
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Liaise with subcontractors to resolve any queries or discrepancies related to contracts and time sheets
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of contracts and time sheets
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
Qualifications for the Accounting Assistant:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
- Experience with contract review and time sheet verification is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP’s
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Education Requirements:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
