Job Summary:
A well-established construction company in Sacramento is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team. The role will focus on managing financial tasks related to the construction industry, including tracking project expenses and managing accounts payable/receivable.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and payments related to construction projects.
- Track and allocate expenses for multiple ongoing projects.
- Perform job cost accounting, ensuring all costs are accurately recorded.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports and project budgets.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts.
- Work closely with the project managers and estimators to provide financial data.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate timecard entries for field workers.
- Support compliance with industry-specific financial regulations and audits.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of job costing, progress billing, and construction accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and construction-specific accounting software (experience with Sage or Procore is a plus).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
