We specialize in masonry and concrete restoration as well as preventative waterproofing of buildings and structures. We have offices across the country and our Sealants department in St. Louis, MO has an opportunity available for an Accounting Assistant.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for accounting and administrative functions for Sealants.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- All AP/AR Functions in Quickbooks
- Back up for scanning payables and other documents into QuickBooks
- Assist in maintaining electronic filing systems, as needed
- Month-end close out process - As needed pull all month-end reports and confirm complete (unbilled expenses and old PO's); keep physical folders up to date (customer dropship and stock)
- Assist in vendor and/or customer discrepancies; research and pull all documentation for any issues that arise
- Assist Home Office with reports requested for YE audit
- Weekly check run/banking upload and posting payments
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Back up for converting Sales Orders to invoices for warehouse shipments
- Back up answer incoming phone calls and route to appropriate personnel
- As needed, pick up incoming mail from upstairs
- Assist in creating purchasing and sales reports as needed
- Assist in physical inventory
- Participate in year-end closeout
- Miscellaneous other administrative tasks as requested
- Assist with follow-ups on Vendor and Customer on orders for status, tracking, and discrepancies
- Maintain quality relationships with Western Branch personnel and outside customers
- Assist in resolving vendor and customer issues with products and/or delivery
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Warehouse and Customer Service experience is a plus
- Experience in construction products or similar industry preferred
- Strong employee relations, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and strong problem-solving skills are essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Quick Books
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
- General understanding of accounting and/or bookkeeping principles is a plus
- Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and work independently
- Ability to work with all levels of employees and varied customer base
- One+ years of general office experience preferred
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
