Accounting Clerk - Umanist Staffing LLC

Overview:

The Accounting Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting team. This position involves ensuring the efficient and effective processing of transactions, invoices, and payments, contributing to the financial health and integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with account payable and receivable duties

Compile and sort documents, such as invoices and checks

Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed

Reconcile records with internal and external stakeholders

Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports

Assist with data entry and accounting software upkeep

Support the team with other accounting projects

Manage and maintain financial documents and records

Process and organize financial statements

Assist in generating and auditing financial reports

Respond to inquiries from vendors, suppliers, and clients

Participate in regular financial audits

Adhere to financial policies and regulations

Collaborate with the accounting team to achieve department goals

Maintain confidentiality of financial information

Required Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Accounting or relevant field

Proven work experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role

Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word

Ability to work with large amounts of numerical data

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Good understanding of financial regulations and legislation

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

Experience with accounting software and databases is a plus

Knowledge of general ledger functions and month-end close process

Understanding of confidentiality principles and data privacy best practices

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
