Role: Accounting Clerk
Contract to start with potential to extend and convert
Pay Rate: $25/hr
Location: Elizabeth, NJ
Key Requirements:
This role will be heavier on the A/P side than the A/R side
- They must have a solid understanding of accounts payable & receivable, debits & credits, coding, and transactional accounting.
- Excel Proficient (VLOOKUPS and PIVOT TABLES)
- Multitasking and ability to organize across a variety of areas in the department and attention to detail
- Proficient with a significant volume of data entry
- Provide clerical assistance to the accounting department
- Strong people skills: we are on-site 5 days a week
- SAGE50 or similar accounting system experience
- Organize and Process Financial Transactions: keying data, sorting / gathering documents, and recording & processing accounting systems transactions.
- Ensure receivable records are accurate and serve as a resource to the accounts receivable team
- Verify funds received
- Prepare Check Deposits
- Ensure payable records are accurate and serve as a resource to the accounts payable team
- Record and verify funds disbursed
- Collect, sort, batch, process, code, and file vendor invoices
- Compile weekly reports for senior accounting personnel
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, Month-End, & Ad-Hoc Reports
- Assist with Clerical and Administrative Tasks
- Assist with the Month-End Close (bank reconciliations, etc.)
