Responsibilities:
Palmer-Donavin is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting clerk to join our dynamic accounting team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounts payable process, with a strong focus on managing inventory-related invoices and coordinating payments. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records. Other responsibilities include:
- Enter and process invoices related to inventory purchases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data entry.
- Prepare, print, and coordinate the distribution of checks for payment. Ensure checks are properly mailed and sent to the bank on schedule.
- Act as a point of contact for vendor inquiries related to payment status, discrepancies, and general accounts payable issues.
- Assist with monthly reconciliation of accounts payable ledger to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all invoices, payments, and other accounts payable documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as legal and tax requirements related to accounts payable.
- Assist with gathering documents and information for internal or external audits as needed.
- Maintain and organize team emails as it pertains to invoices
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
