Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QuickBooks, strong knowledge of accounting principles, cash management, and financial reporting. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accounting records using QuickBooks.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
- Assist in cash management by monitoring and reconciling cash flow, preparing bank deposits, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure all financial transactions are accurately documented.
- Assist in the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Support payroll processing and verify accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Respond to internal and external queries related to financial information and accounting procedures.
- Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for financial documentation.
- Assist with other administrative tasks related to accounting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and cash management practices.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of accuracy and efficiency in data entry and reconciliation.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
