The Accounting Intern will assist with accounts payable and bookkeeping duties. They will take on projects and responsibilities as needed, and will act as a support to the Accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with monthly Amex reconciliation (creating expense sheets, following up on late reports, reviewing receipts, adjusting journal entries)
- Rent allocation for partnered properties (sending sales, comparing spreadsheets to our records, creating invoices)
- Pulling sales data to send to partners for invoice preparation
- Invoice & expense report entering via Compeat
- Vendor statement reconciliation
- Assisting in monthly close by auditing financial statements to ensure correct allocation of expenses and purchases
- Reviewing sales journals
- Processing mail (scanning and saving, forwarding to the restaurants)
- Assist with data collection
- General office involvement in file maintenance, scanning, and document retrieval
Skills & Requirements
- Entry level accounting experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Great work ethic
- Basic Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)
- Restaurant and hospitality experience is a plus.
Physical Demands
- The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, lifting up to 20 pounds, sitting, standing, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
