Role and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage the Accounts Payable function, including processing invoices, verifying expense reports, and reconciling vendor statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors utilizing a third-party payment processor, resolving any payment discrepancies or issues that may arise.
• Overseeing the administration of all company credit card programs.
• Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, expense allocation entries and other month-end closing activities for the accounts payable function.
• Implementing and conducting month-end procedures and reconciliation of accounts payable related accounts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and resolve any outstanding items related to accounts payable.
• Implementing and enforcing proper financial controls throughout the department.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and financial controls.
• Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, promoting professional growth and development.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and best practices in accounts payable function.
• Assist in supervising, hiring, training, evaluating, and developing accounts payable staff.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, with a focus on accounts payable.
• Prior experience managing a team.
• Construction Accounting experience is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
• Experience working with financial software and ERP systems, Viewpoint Vista preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent time management skills, coupled with ability to prioritize duties.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
