Accounting Manager!

A prominent 50-year-old Real Estate Development and Management Firm with a large multi-state property portfolio is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join the team. This will be a vital and integral role responsible for the work product of a team of property accountants, financial reporting, and administrative support. 

We’re looking for the best and the brightest! The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor degree in accounting along with solid experience with commercial real estate property accounting.

 Responsibilities:

• The primary responsibility of the Accounting Manager will be to oversee various accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, budgets and forecasting, general ledger, and monthly/annual close.
• Review detailed month-end, quarterly, and annual variance analytics and financial statements.
• Review and approve work prepared by accounting staff.
• Oversee preparation of CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and billings.
• Assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures.
• Review property budgets and forecasts.
• Work cohesively with asset management, development, and property management teams to accurately produce accounting information.
• Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.

Requirements:

• B.S. Degree in Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of demonstrated Senior Accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry. 
• Extensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable, GL Accounting, and management principles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting requirements and familiarity with balance sheet review, variance tracking, and budgeting process.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Strong experience calculating CAM (Common Are Maintenance) reconciliations.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientated focus. Excellent communicator with a passion for learning and contributing.
• Software proficiency in Yardi/Argus preferred.
