YOUR IMPACT AS ACCOUNTING MANAGER:
As the Accounting Manager at Community Action Lehigh Valley, you will have the exciting opportunity to direct the day-to-day fiscal functions of our organization and its subsidiaries. Your expertise in adhering to generally accepted accounting principles will ensure accuracy and financial integrity. But that's not all! As a key support to our Senior Management Team, you will actively participate in the leadership of the agency, making your mark in shaping our future!
With your supervisory role, you will oversee our accounting staff, fostering their growth and development. You'll also serve as a valuable fiscal resource, providing guidance on community revitalization and development projects. Your expertise will be sought-after when making purchasing and leasing decisions for the agency, ensuring sound financial management. But it doesn't stop there!
As part of your role, you will contribute to program development and share your fiscal knowledge through education and staff training. Your passion for excellence and innovation will drive our organization forward.!
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
To be successful as an Accounting Manager, you'll need a mix of skills and experience that will allow you to excel in this dynamic role. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration will provide you with the foundation needed to understand the complexities of our financial operations. Additionally, having at least five years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit environment, will give you the expertise needed to hit the ground running. As our Accounting Manager, you'll need to be well-versed in fund accounting, budget preparation, and financial analysis.
Your proficiency in fixed asset management, cash management, purchasing, and risk management will contribute to the smooth functioning of our fiscal operations. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex contracts and financial documents will be critical in making informed decisions.
As a leader in our organization, strong leadership skills and people management skills are a must. You'll have the opportunity to coach and motivate a team of employees, driving them to reach their full potential. Excellent communication skills will also be essential as you collaborate with various stakeholders and communicate financial insights effectively.
