We manufacture industrial pumping equipment typically used in steam boiler rooms as well as diesel fuel applications. We have around 40 employees including manufacturing and office staff. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our company.
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial and accounting activities within the company. This includes managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to oversee our accounting and bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Including:
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including cash, inventory, receivables, and payables.
- Oversee processing of supplier invoices in collaboration with our team and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Oversee timely generation and delivery of customer invoices and ensure timely collection.
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data in Sage 100.
- Maintain and update standard cost data as needed through regular analysis of project budget vs. actuals.
- Design, document, and implement business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and segregation of duties as needed.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and monthly/quarterly financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years of people management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage 100 a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
