Salary: $90,000 - 110,000/year
The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage all accounting functions within the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards. This role will be responsible for financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with a particular focus on leveraging NetSuite to streamline accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll. Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze financial data to provide insights into performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets for various projects and departments. Conduct financial forecasting and assist with strategic financial planning.
- NetSuite Utilization: Leverage NetSuite ERP to manage accounting functions, streamline processes, and generate financial reports. Customize and optimize NetSuite workflows to meet the company's specific needs.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Project Accounting: Manage project accounting, including job costing, progress billing, and revenue recognition. Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking of construction projects.
- Audit and Tax Preparation: Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure all documentation is in order. Prepare tax returns and manage tax compliance activities.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and guidance as needed. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in the construction industry, particularly with flooring projects, is highly desirable.
- NetSuite Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with NetSuite ERP system, including configuration, reporting, and process management. NetSuite certifications are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
