Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee our financial operations and maintain the integrity of our accounting records and processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in financial management, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to ensuring accuracy and compliance within the accounting department.
Job Duties- Accounting Manager:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts. Present financials and variance analysis to management and investigate any identified areas for additional analysis.
- Budget Management: Assist with developing and managing budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with grants managers and provider service to maximize available revenues from all sources.
- Compliance and Auditing: Partner with senior leadership in Finance to ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies. Oversee audits, liaise with external auditors, and implement recommendations for process improvements.
- Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals. Delegate tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and provide guidance to foster professional development.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices to streamline workflows.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance.
Experience-Accounting Manager:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field
- CPA certification required
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with 2 years in a managerial role preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred), advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and nonprofit management
