Position Summary:
The Manager of Corporate Accounting will work directly with the Regional Controller, US and Canada and be responsible for the general ledger accounting activities for the Company’s 10+ corporate holding companies. This position will be responsible for the oversight of a team of two and include training and development of the team. The role will also work closely with the Global Consolidations and Financial Reporting teams during the month-end close, consolidation and reporting processes under the direction of the Regional Controller. This role will be a key contact point person in cross departmental and global finance coordination efforts.
What will you do?
- Responsible for the monthly accounting closes relating to corporate entities working in a collaborative manner with members of the Financial Reporting and Consolidation teams.
- Responsible for monthly general ledger close activities of 10 plus corporate holding companies including JDE account maintenance and flux/trend analysis.
- Review accounting journal entries and monthly reconciliations as part of the corporate entity close to ensure completeness of data and accuracy of information.
- Oversight and coordination of quarterly intercompany license fee invoicing and annual management fee charge-outs in collaboration with Tax function.
- Cross functional assistance as needed with intercompany loans, intercompany dividends and legal entity rationalization coordination.
- Responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the corporate accounting department SOX compliance.
- Administrator of the Company’s global account reconciliation and close tracking software (Blackline) and responsible for day-to-day support for system users.
- Assist in ad-hoc request as needed in coordination with FP&A, Treasury and Tax functions.
- Expectation to propose and implement process efficiencies and improvements.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Combination of public accounting and corporate industry experience preferred.
- Direct experience with corporate accounting activities required.
- Extensive knowledge of SOX-404 and experience in the manufacturing or the chemicals industry is a plus.
- Experience in financial systems administration and maintenance a plus.
- The position requires the ability to understand problems, collect & summarize data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
- The ability to offer creative ideas for improving business analysis is encouraged and expected.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-pace environment, prioritize projects and think analytically
- Advanced MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge of accounting systems such as JDE and Blackline preferred.
Education, Experience and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting; CPA required.
Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience:
7+ years of relevant work experience showing progression in areas of responsibilities. Previous supervisory experience required.
