We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Accounting Manager - Construction Project Accounting to join our team. This role will be pivotal in managing all aspects of accounting and financial management related to our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking project costs, managing contracts, and ensuring that all financial aspects of our projects are in line with our business objectives and financial guidelines. This role is critical to our organization's success and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our financial performance.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Implementing and maintaining percentage of completion and percent project cost accounting methods.
3. Reviewing and approving AIA (American Institute of Architects) forms and T&M (time and materials) contracts.
4. Ensuring that all project-related transactions are accurately recorded in the company's accounting system.
5. Collaborating with project managers and other key stakeholders to ensure that all financial objectives are met.
6. Preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities.
7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
8. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes as necessary.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (such as a CPA) is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project accounting or a related role.
3. Demonstrated expertise in percentage of completion, percent project cost, AIA, and T&M.
4. Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and principles.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
7. Proficiency in using accounting software and other relevant IT tools.
8. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the company's financial standards and ethical guidelines.
