We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Manager to join our team in the technology industry. This is a permanent role that offers the opportunity to work with a forward-thinking and innovative team. This position will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, including construction, development, non-profit accounting, month-end close, ledger, monthly reporting, financials, and annual budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all general ledger activities.
2. Coordinate and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
3. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
4. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
5. Manage the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts. Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
6. Perform continuous analysis of variances and reconciliations.
7. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including construction, development, real estate, and non-profit accounting.
8. Coordinate and ensure timely monthly and year-end financial reporting.
9. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
10. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
11. Develop, implement, and maintain financial and accounting policies and procedures.
12. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on construction, development, real estate, non-profit, month-end close, ledger, monthly reporting, financials, and annual budget.
3. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge in Excel.
5. Experience with a major ERP system is preferred.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction.
9. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
10. Proven leadership skills with a track record for developing and guiding a team to achieve their best.
11. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
12. Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
