We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the overall financial management and record keeping of our company. This role includes managing and overseeing all aspects of our accounting department, including financial reporting, budgeting, and financial accounting. The ideal candidate for this position possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational experience, and the ability to manage the financial condition of the company. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work with a team of seasoned professionals in a thriving industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Manage the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
3. Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
4. Confer with the CEO and COO on all operational issues relating to financial performance.
5. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report.
6. Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for Executive Director, Development and Board of Directors.
7. Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
8. Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (MBA preferred)
2. Professional certification (such as CPA) is a plus.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
11. Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
12. Ability to effectively direct and supervise.
