Senior Accountant Real Estate
Privately-held real estate investment firm specializing in the acquisition of industrial properties across the US is seeking a Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end work paper packages from posted journal entries and general ledger analysis
- Strategically manage property cash flow and major repair and maintenance capital improvements
- Prepare and review capital calls and distribution allocations
- Maintain detailed capital account balances for partners
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Oversee the calculations for management fees, carried interest, and/or incentive fees
- Prepare financial statement analysis for management and partners
- Create reporting templates and perform analysis using Excel and Yardi
- Collaborate with the asset management team on monthly cash flow forecasting
- Create and implement annual operating and capital budgets
- Liaise with the Investment and Asset Management teams to review and enhance internal and investor reporting
- Manage all property-specific deadlines including tax & insurance payments, lender reporting deadlines, etc
- Read and understand loan documents, partnership agreements, regulatory agreements, and closing statements
- Assist the team during the due diligence process of acquisitions and dispositions
- Communicate with investors, lenders, property managers, and tenants
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred
- 3-5 years of public accounting and/or public/private accounting experience, real estate experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with attention to detail
