About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and professional Accounting Manager to join our collaborative and growing team. Reporting to the Controller or his/her nominee, you’ll play a key role in implementing process improvements, system enhancements, and managing our monthly financial statement close process. You are one who is looking for a hands-on position, loves challenging opportunities and thrives in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities
Lead global, month-end financial statement close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and generation of financial reporting with detailed analysis, for example, variance analysis of actuals versus budget, prior year and prior periods
Lead evaluation of transactions for appropriate accounting treatment and perform account analyses and reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of all errors
Review bank reconciliations and provide back office services such as accounts payable, receivables and payroll
Prepare sales tax filings and manage escheatment process
Partner with external tax team to ensure tax compliance work is performed in a timely manner
Partner with Sales and Product teams to support new product launches, operational issues, and regulatory / compliance checks
Assist in automating and streamlining analysis and management reports
Develop, implement and document accounting processes, policies and procedures, including the ability to recommend and implement process improvements
Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis to support the decision making of senior management
Provide administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations, including supply and equipment procurement
Support the budgeting process, as required
Support the audit process, as required
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required (CPA / MBA preferred)
Minimum 8 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or Audit
Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a focus on understanding operations and a strong sense of ownership
Strategic, analytical and agile thinker with problem-solving skills
Ability to comprehend big-picture and also pay close attention to details
Self-starter with high emotional intelligence and intellectual curiosity
Clear and effective communication skills
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and / or Google Sheets
Quickbooks and Mid Market Accounting / ERP systems a plus
Microsoft PowerQuery a plus
This role is expected to work 100% from our Midtown East Office.
