About the Accounting Manager Position:
The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the organization’s financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with non-profit accounting standards
This role requires a hands-on leader who can handle financial reporting, budget management, and audits while supporting the financial sustainability of their programs.
Essential Functions for the Accounting Manager: The Accounting Manager will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
Ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
Account reconciliations.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making
Document preparation for the state
Ad-hoc work and projects
Preferred skills for the Accounting Manager: Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting
3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial role
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A self-starter, not afraid to tackle what needs to be done
The Accounting Manager will be a highly organized, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail

the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure
The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
