What We Look For
We are looking for an experienced hotel Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of the hotel accounting and finance function. This role will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial reports, and for safeguarding the hotel assets in accordance with the required standards. This position calls for an individual who is willing to be an integral member of a dynamic and ambitious team, thrive in a fast paced and continuously changing environment, possess a high degree of self-motivation, and a has desire to be a player in the hospitality industry.
The Key Responsibilities
- Prepare all financial statements monthly, and manage month end and year end closings
- Maintain accounting reconciliations for all accounts, including the Balance Sheet
- Work closely with all senior management of the hotel to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Oversee bi-monthly payroll processes
- Manage the day-to-day financial activities of the hotel, and where applicable, management of the accounting department
- Ensure all finance related policies and procedures are adhered to
- Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and annual city and state tax filings
- Assures compliance with internal controls
- Ensure all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions are carried out in a timely and accurate manner
- Oversees monthly and quarterly inventory counts
The Model Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance/Accounting and/or equivalent education/work experience.
- Hotel accounting background.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work well under pressure and be successful in an environment where projects and issues are constantly shifting.
- Experience with Accounting Systems - M3, ProfitSword experience a plus, Opera, Micros.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
