The Special Projects Manager will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and will manage multiple projects of varying size. You will be responsible for scope management, requirements gathering, project tracking, communications and meeting facilitation. You will also be responsible for reporting on project status to the broader accounting team and relevant stakeholders. Candidates for this position want to learn about different areas of accounting and are passionate about process improvement. This position offers exposure to many financial areas of the organization and is a great opportunity to expand your business knowledge.
You will:
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and feasibility
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget through communication and follow-up with stakeholders
- Manage project planning and meetings through agenda planning, providing status updates and following up on action items
- Clearly communicate the status of projects, challenges, results and proposed paths across stakeholders and teams
- Own the accounting sprint process for system improvements in partnership with the IS team.
- Serve as a lead resource to assign, train, monitor and review the work of assigned project resources
- Scope and implement the accounting system implications of unique transactions, in partnership with technical accounting
- Actively identify opportunities for process improvement or operational automation in existing accounting system infrastructure
- Provide independent and objective assurance to management for the design and operating efficiency of SOX Controls
- Review & process sales orders following technical accounting guidelines as needed to assist revenue team
- Collaborate with the broader accounting team and assist with miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned
You have:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
- 4-5 years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
- Works well in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Excellent research & analytical skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and follow through to execute all tasks.

- Familiarity with Netsuite as an ERP.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed below. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
$86,500 - $103,505
