Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90,000 – $100,000
Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will join a unified Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, while working closely with the Director of Finance and accounting department
The Accounting Manager will oversee and audit the work of the grant accounting team and general accounting functions.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
Responsible for assisting in the cross-department training on all areas of accounts payable, payroll, grant accounting, grant proposals, grant applications and compliance
Responsible for general ledger accounting functions, including but not limited to, accounts payable, payroll, grant accounting and month-end close
Ensure compliance with financial policies and standard operating procedures
Assists with grant reporting, drawdown, compliance, and audits
Assists with maintenance and review of monthly journal entries within Blackbaud Accounting System
Maintain accurate fund accounting records and ensure compliance with donor restrictions and grant requirements
Assists the Director of Finance with month-end close and monthly preparation of financial statements by reviewing and analyzing monthly revenues and expenses
Prepares monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
Assists with the preparation of audit schedules and documentation requested for various audits
Maintains internal controls and safeguards over accounting processes
Provide leadership, training, development, and guidance to Senior and Staff Accountants
Performs other accounting, finance and ad-hoc related functions as requested
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:
4 to 7+ years of progressive non-profit accounting experience
Minimum of 3+ years managing a finance or accounting department
Experience within the healthcare industry is highly preferred
Experience within US GAAP standards
Experience with Blackbaud FinancialEdge NXT software
Highly proficient in Excel (v/h-lookups, pivot tables, formulas)
Self-sufficient, able to work independently and collaboratively
Highly organized and efficient with time management
Positive attitude and professional
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
