Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated hands-on Accounting Manager to join our team. The incumbent will manage a team of four employees and oversee crucial financial functions including, payroll, collections, and overall accounting functions, ensuring that our company maintains financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting department including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and general ledger.
+ Oversee the company's transaction processing systems and implement operational best practices.
+ Develop and maintain necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting systems.
+ Review and assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes and systems, as necessary.
+ Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
+ Manage the preparation of payroll for company personnel.
+ Monitor and manage fleet / DOT, Fuel / IFTA, and Licensing
+ Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
+ Understand and comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on necessary actions.
+ Mentor, motivate, and provide hands-on training to accounting department staff and promote a positive working environment.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000

Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field. A CPA or other related certification is a plus.
+ Proven 5+ years of accounting experience in a supervisory role.
+ Working experience in Construction and Fleet Service industries is highly desired.
+ Proficiency with accounting software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
+ A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
+ High attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
+ Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Proven ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure efficient work outcomes.
