Accounting Services Specialist - NCTCOG

About the Job
The purpose of this position is to assist with the processes related to Accounts Payable and the weekly processing of accounts payable invoice payments, childcare payments and employee expense reimbursements. This position also provides general support to Accounting Operations and is responsible for mailing all check payments.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing filing and mailing services
- Assists with the Accounts Payable check runs to ensure they are completed weekly on schedule
- Enters AP and PO vouchers and reviews invoice backup for reasonableness and necessity
- Research discrepancies, match invoice amounts with payment requests
- Review requests for appropriate signatures and authorization
- Process invoices, purchase requests, PAM’s, PO’s and travel reimbursements in accounting system
- Process monthly postage transactions, prints AP checks and EFT advices
- Attaches Employee Expense Reimbursement documentation to imported vouchers
- Enters Zero AP Vouchers, PAM's and attaches backup to vouchers.
- Can assist with mailing AR invoices and 1099's
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education & Experience:
Work requires knowledge of a specific vocations, administrative or technical nature that may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency and up to 1 year related experience.
Compensation:
- FLSA: Non-Exempt
- Starting Salary: $19 - $21/hour depending on skills, qualifications and experience

NCTCOG contributes twelve percent (12%) of permanent full-time employees' gross salaries. Participating employees contribute six percent (6%) of gross salary. An employee becomes forty percent (40%) vested in NCTCOG's contributions after three full years of employment. An additional fifteen percent {15%) is vested for each additional year of employment. An employee becomes fully vested after seven years of employment.
