Job Summary- The Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting with the financial operations of the company. This role will also handle accounts payable, accounts receivable tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with the accounting team to support various accounting functions and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.
Task Functions & Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling payments
- Conduct audits of payroll records to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and make bank deposits as needed
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with ordering and inventory management processes
- Generate and process invoices for customers
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as needed
- Prepare and maintain financial records ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial information and support
Accuracy and Attention to Detail:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly
- Timeliness: Meet deadlines for financial reporting, month-end close, and other accounting tasks.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with team members and other departments to resolve accounting issues and provide financial information.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records and propose solutions to improve accounting processes.
- Efficiency: Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Professional Development: Continuously update knowledge of accounting principles and software to enhance job performance.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and support other team members as needed.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders regarding accounting inquiries and issues.
