About the Job
Vaco Denver is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our valued client in the Manufacturing Industry
This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing, ad processing payments
The ideal candidate will help maintain smooth financial operations and support key accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable:Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions.
Create and submit invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy.
Maintain and update customer files (e.g., name changes, address updates, mergers).
Generate reports on the status of customer accounts as needed.
Research and resolve discrepancies or past-due amounts in collaboration with the Collections Manager.
Reconcile accounts receivable monthly with the Collections Manager.
Send customer statements and review for discrepancies.
Monitor lines of credit and release orders for the sales team.
Process customer credit card payments.
Update customer resale tax licenses using Avalara.
Accounts Payable:Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile with account balances.
Facilitate vendor payments, verify federal ID numbers, and resolve discrepancies.
Input vendor invoices and create check runs for AP payments or pay vendors by credit card.
Reconcile AP credit cards and record entries in the ERP system.
Calculate and report use tax based on paid invoices.
Conduct monthly AP audits for accuracy.
Other Responsibilities:Enter general ledger entries and assist with account reconciliations.
Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Assist with weekly borrowing base reports.
Support external audits and provide requested information.
Help with year-end file creation and purging.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Understand the sales and purchasing processes.
Manage customer credits.
Required Skills/Abilities:Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidential and accurate records.
Understanding of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement).
Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required.
2-3 years of experience in accounting or similar roles.
Experience with ERP systems, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office is a plus.

the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
