We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily accounting activities. Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in managing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of journal entries.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, track outstanding payments, and work to resolve discrepancies. Prepare and review billing and payment schedules.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Help ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, including verifying timesheets and ensuring accurate compensation.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation and assist with audits, ensuring that records are organized and accessible for review.
- Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately input financial data into accounting software and maintain electronic and paper records in compliance with company policies.
- Budget Tracking & Forecasting: Assist with monitoring budget performance and provide support for budgetary forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
