Accounting Specialist

Location: Grand Prairie, TX

Schedule:

• Mon-Fri (Occasional Saturday or Sunday)
• Flexible 8-hour shifts
• Overtime as needed

Type: Contract to hire

Work Arrangement: Fully on-site

Role Overview: As an Accounting Specialist, you will collaborate with the Controller, Assistant Controller, and Cost Accountant to deliver accurate financial analysis and reports in a Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment.

2. Ability to maintain and enforce strict processes to meet regulatory demands
3. Capability to set priorities and multitask while adhering to strict reporting deadlines

Additional Skills/Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with SAP and Kronos is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll and handle related reporting and follow-up tasks
• Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile and analyze assigned General Ledger accounts
• Assist with projects and cost accounting activities
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable analysis and duties
• Cross-train in other accounting areas to serve as a backup
• Perform other administrative tasks, projects, and duties as assigned
• Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley auditing requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Initiative and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
• Adaptability to a fast-paced and changing environment
• Ability to set and meet workflow deadlines
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Bonus Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience with Kronos Payroll Software, Coupa, SAP, and AS400
• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility
