At Atwood Management, we are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team and support the heart of our Accounting Department. This critical role ensures smooth financial transactions, keeps data organized and accurate, and facilitates communication with tenants, vendors, and team members.
Position Summary
As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a vital part in processing financial transactions, assisting with accounts receivable and payable, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be a key communicator, building rapport with clients, vendors, and internal teams to support smooth operations and excellent customer service.
What You'll Do:
- Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for tenants, vendors, and internal teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and agencies to ensure top-tier service.
- Collaborate with finance, field services, and leasing teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Transaction Processing:
- Handle the receipt and recording of payments.
- Assist with laundry coin counts and deposits.
- Support Accounts Receivable and Payable functions.
- Collections & Reconciliation:
- Track and record non-sufficient funds (NSFs) and notify customers.
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements during month-end and year-end closes.
- Vendor Management:
- Develop positive vendor relationships and address inquiries quickly.
- Keep vendor insurance certificates and lien waivers up-to-date.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for greater efficiency and contribute to ongoing improvements.
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours), On-Site
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Starting Wage: $18.00 - $20.00/hour
What You Bring:
- Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent business experience).
- Strong grasp of basic accounting principles and the ability to create and interpret financial reports.
- Knowledge of the property management or real estate industry is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
