Salary Range:$17.00 To $25.00 HourlyJob Title: Accounting SpecialistReports to: Vice President of AccountingFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSalary Grade: NE14Supervisory Responsibility: NoSUMMARY:The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other management within the department. Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists accounting personnel.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor and/or Trustco Bank’s Board of Directors. Perform daily reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts. Research and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner. Review daily teller statement reports. Research any issues on the teller statement reports and assist branch personnel in resolving outstanding issues and differences in a timely manner. Track and analyze non-performing loans on a monthly basis. Provide management with detailed monthly reporting for each non-performing loan. Provide internal customer support to branches and all other departments of the bank by answering questions and working to respond to information requests. Assist with filing and photocopying to help maintain accurate, complete and organized records within the Accounting department. Special projects as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:· Associates degree in Accounting.· Effective verbal and written communication skills.· Well organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to time sensitive deadlines.· Ability to work well independently and in groups.· Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Programs; Excel and Word.PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS: This is a full-time position. Office hours Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL: No travel required. LANGUAGE SKILLS:Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace; bilingual skills a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including but not limited to company policies and procedures.
