Accounting Specialist - Silver Falls School District

Silver Falls School District is excited to hire an Accounting Specialist to join our Business Services team! This is a rewarding full-time, year-round position that offers competitive pay and extremely robust benefits, including:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this role include: 

• Assist with accounting tasks related to district payroll and accounts payable in accordance with policies and procedures as deemed necessary by the Business Manager.
• Recording of all receipts in a manner most beneficial to the district; and that the accounting for funds is complete and accurate. Includes entry/review of county property tax receipts.
• Assist business manager with completion of pre-auditing tasks and auditing related tasks.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with staff  information. 
• Maintain general ledger records, cash balances and reconcile all bank statements.
• Assist the business manager or superintendent in building the annual budget.
• Assist the superintendent and business manager in providing periodic financial reports for use by the board. 
• Tracking of grant revenue, expenditure and compliance.
• Work directly with building principals in providing feedback and guidance regarding  secretaries’ performance in relation to i-Visions and accounting practices.
• Improve and update skills by attending appropriate seminars, workshops or classes as requested.
• Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may seem to be appropriate to the Board or Administration.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance, as defined in District policy and regulations (GCBD/GDBD).
