JOB TITLE: Accounting Specialist

REPORTS TO: Controller
COMPENSATION RAGE: $23-$26 per hour
SUMMARY: Provides support to the Accounting Department
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry
- Maintenance of the general ledger
- Preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports
- Complete moderately complex calculations using spreadsheet and other software tools
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Prepares journal entries for entry into the general ledger system monthly, by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing support for the journal entries
- Performs account analysis to ensure account balances and entries are correct
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate records and provide accounting support
- Prepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Complete individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner and provide an abstract recap for the results
- Assists with related special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree with experience preferred or 2-5 years relevant experience
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience in Open Invoice, Track, and Ariba preferred
- 10-key by touch.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Acute attention to detail.

- Work with other departments to obtain information as needed
- Assist other departments in providing information and training as needed
