Job Summary and Qualifications
Our mission in HCA Healthcare’s Physician Services Group is to practice the best medicine, produce superior patient experiences, achieve operational excellence and collaborate with other health care partners, so that the communities we serve reap the benefits of high-quality, cost-effective care. With over 13,000 employees nationwide, the medical teams at PSG support over 800 physician practices and have over 9 million patient encounters annually.
As a Physician Service Group Accounting Intern, you will receive hands-on training that will help prepare you for your accounting career, and gain an understanding of components of balance sheets, general ledger and the associated processes. You will shadow a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant and Manager/Director to learn each person’s responsibilities.
What you will do in this role:
- You will complete bank reconciliations, journal entry packets, physician contracts for expense reports, and PARs
- You will compile documentation for special projects (FAS audit, lease audit, escheat, and tax packages)
- You will maintain salary templates, and building/equipment lease schedules
- You will research refund reconciliations, and re-class miscellaneous cash
What qualifications you will need:
- Present enrollment in an accredited 4-year accounting or related major program
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Current juniors, seniors, or master’s students preferred
